“The lies are in the dialogue, the truth is in the visuals.” – Kelly Reichardt – Film Director / Screenwriter

Feature Films

Andrew shot and edited my feature… I couldn’t ask for a better result. Once you explain your vision he will help you conquer your dreams.

As Director of Photography & Editor

of the feature film Dress Code my approach was simple: Capture character in every frame and put each emotion front and center. This film offers a unique opportunity to follow a character from childhood to adulthood. Utilizing different lens packages and approaches for each time period facilitates the transition and highlights the differences before a single line of dialogue is spoken.

The cinematography… brings the story to life in a manner that is both glorious and electric. Cinematographer Andrew Froening understands the assignment well and has shot the story in a way that feels both gritty and grounded. From the drama to the violence, each aspect of the film is well lit and perfectly choreographed.

The polished look of the film helps the film look like a proper gangster epic, one that can go toe to toe with some of the most recent fare in the genre… each aspect of the film comes across as exceedingly well done.

Running at almost two hours long… it is structured in a way that it doesn’t drag or feel convoluted. This is where the editing prowess comes into play and Andrew Froening has hit it out of the park. The narrative pacing is damn near perfect and there is not a single dull moment in the entire film.

Short Films

Froening is drawn to narratives that delve into serious issues and loftier ideas… the uber-concise approach is conducive for the kind of storytelling he envisions.

Working with Andrew Froening is a wonderful experience. As a writer, it’s hard to completely let go and let a director execute your script. When working with Andrew, that thought never crosses my mind. I highly recommend you work with him as soon as possible.
